Michael J. Kalil, 93, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:35 am in Life Care Center of Michigan City.
Committal Prayers will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 29, 2016 at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, 153 Tilden Ave., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Dennis Blaney officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with full military services conducted by the American Legion Skwiat Post 451 and the V.F.W. 2536. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
He was born February 20, 1923 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Thomas and Rose Azar Kalil.
Surviving are his former spouse, Sally Kalil of Michigan City, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Charles, Fred and Albert Kalil; and four sisters, Margaret Nowfel, Edna Kalil, Frieda Kalil and Emily Hill.
Michael retired as a machinist from Josam and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the American Legion Skwiat Post 451.
