Our deepest sympathies to the entire Kennedy extended family.  We -- as are innumerable others -- are keenly aware of the persistent contributions Dr. Kennedy made across all ares of life . . . spiritual, personal, professional, service, and leisure.  He is a role model in all areas, a true "man for others", and his legacy lives on in his wonderful wife, children and grandchildren.  God bless you all.  We are with you in spirit and thinking of you.  God bless and keep Dr. Kennedy.

As I was gearing up for the first anniversary of my own fathers passing, our Father Doyle called to tell me about Dr Kennedy.....so it seems I will be spending that date of July 15 honoring both great men.....there are no words to describe the numerous contributions that Dr. Kennedy has made to the world of medicine, his community, his family and his friends.  He was always so gracious to us despite his own medical situation and showed courage and humor which will be remembered by all of us who are left behind.   I was so honored when he and Betsy appeared at Notre Dame Church a year ago July 15th for my fathers 'celebration of life'.  It meant so much to me to have them both there and what lingers in my mind is Jims smile then.....We have all been lucky to have known him and I am sure he and my father are having an Irish toast to us here below ......blessings to
everyone in his family and his friends....their memories will carry us on....peace

I will always remember with deep appreciation when Dr KennedY volunteered to be our police surgeon during the 60s and 70s.  He was truly a generous humanitarian. Sincerely, (Former Sheriff,) Mr and Mrs Tom Maass

To Aunt Betsy and all my cousins,

Uncle Jim has gone to a  better place to be with Grandpa and Grandma.   Every summer when our family visited Joliet, we always looked forward to visiting with you in Kankakee.  True to form, I recall that often Uncle Jim had to run out to the hospital to perform a surgery or deal with an emergency.     Through the years, Uncle Jim continued to support the Jesuit tradition by sending 4 of his own to Boston College which allowed us the privilege of spending more time with Uncle Jim.   He is a great example of when life handed him a lemon he turned it into lemonade by taking his skills to the disadvantaged to make the world a better place.

He has gone to join my dad in Heaven and they will look down on us and have a great time.

Bob, Linda, Patrick, and Thomas Ryan
