Joan and your family, Cyndy and l are deeply saddened for your loss. Bill was a funny and kind hearted man. Cyndy would always call him Wild Bill he got a kick out of that. We had a lot of nicknames on the old Mickys and Beakers softball teams.I remember how much Bill could eat.We were supposed to feed the people at the polls when Joe LaRocco was running for Mayor sandwiches from Micky Albania pizza.Micky made so many Bill and I ate 67 ham and cheeses. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Although Joanne and I left Michigan City around 50 years ago, Thanks to the internet and email, Bill and I were able to get reconnected with each other several years ago. And I thoroughly enjoyed being able to send messages, and share pictures and memories with my old friend, who will be sorely missed.

A GARDEN PATH was ordered on August 18, 2015

Message from Wayne & Antoinette (Penziol) Yackus

My sisters & I were a few of the girls in the south side neighborhood (Ohio, Elston, Manhattan & Garfield Streets). Along with our brother, all the kids pretty much went to St. Stans. I was the tomboy & all the guys from the neighborhood would come by & ask our dad to take them to South Yards to play ball. My dad said yes but I had to play too. Billy was one of them. Lots of fun memories. Those were simpler times. May all your precious memories remain forever in your hearts & bring you strength & peace. Our deepest sympathy.

Lisa and Alex,
I want to express my deepest sympathy and condolences regarding the loss of your Dad, Bill. When I still lived in Michigan City/Chesterton & would run into your Dad he always expressed his love and deep sense of pride for both of you. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed. The memories I have of playing softball with, and against, Bill will never be forgotten. He always gave 110% in whatever he did. The laugh's I had with your Dad and Danny at Beaker's are irreplaceable and priceless. Words cannot adequately express the feeling of loss you are going through but remember their are many people out there that Bill touched and I pray all our thoughts and prayers will help you during this sad time.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He and I graduated from Elston together and also went to Army Basic Training in the same company at Fort Polk Louisiana. His timing and wit kept egos in check around him. On our only weekend pass near the end of training he and I went to Lake Charles, got a room and slept all weekend!
The herd is thinning with some of the best going first. Rest well my friend. Thanks for the memories.
