Michael R. Northern, 53, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at 4:00 am in Hammond, Indiana.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, IN. Burial will follow in Tracy Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.
He was born April 21, 1963 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Albert M. and Sandra K. (Hatley) Northern.
Surviving are step-son, Cody Lampert of La Porte, IN; two step-daughters, Jessica Hanske of La Porte, IN, Amber Bush of Michigan City, IN; three sisters, Barbara Sanchez of Hobart, IN, Kimberly (Mario) Escobedo of La Porte, IN, Pamela (Nicolas) Nieto of La Porte, IN; Brother, Jeffery Northern of La Porte, IN. He was preceded in death by brother, Randy Northern; sister, Peggy Kreighbaum.
Michael was a truck driver for Kingsbury Elevator. He enjoyed playing roulette, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He loved everyone he came in contact with and would help anyone in need.
