Judith "Judy" Kroening, 83, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:30 pm in Hospice Franciscan Communities.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 600 Franklin Square, Michigan City, IN with Rev. Tanya Scheff and Rev. Kent Patterson officiating. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

She was born November 15, 1932 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Walter and Evelyn (Glafcke) Clark. On June 6, 1953 in Michigan City, IN she married Henry "Hank" Kroening who preceded her on February 24, 2009.

Surviving are a daughter, Sue Piecuch of Michigan City, IN; two sons, Robert Kroening of Baton Rouge, LA, and John (Annette) Kroening of Davenport, IA; grandsons, Christopher (Kylie Rosko) Piecuch of Michigan City, IN, Brian (Karen) Kroening of Mishawaka, IN and Alex Kroening of Baton Rouge, LA; two nephews, Brad and Jamie; and her niece, Ann.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Ann Kroening; and sister, Elizabeth Fleming.

She was a consultant at Weight Watchers. Judy was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church who enjoyed reading, running races and spending time with her family. She participated in the Chicago Marathon and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Indiana University Basketball fan. Judy was known as grandma to many.
