Bettie B. Helton, 84, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 9:00 am in Memorial Hospital of South Bend, South Bend, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Entombment will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 am -12:00 pm, Thursday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN.

She was born April 24, 1932 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Julius and Stella (Bolka) Borneham. On February 23, 1952 in Michigan City, IN she married Garland "Ronald" Helton

who survives in Michigan City, IN.

Also surviving are a daughter, Rhonda Helton of Apache Junction, AZ; grandson, Derick (Ann) Helton of Michigan City, IN; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Kristin Helton of Michigan City, IN; sister, Jean Thomas of Michigan City, IN; special aunt, Bernarda LaBerge of Michigan City, IN; and a special niece, Julie Williams of Michigan City, IN.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Helton; and step-brother, Robert Burkhart.

Bettie was an avid Notre Dame Football and Elston Red Devils fan. She was enjoyed NASCAR racing who followed, loved and admired Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
