William R. Ludwig

William R. Ludwig, 90, Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 8:06 am at his home in, Trail Creek, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 8, 2021. Private family burial will be held at a later date in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, IN. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.    

He was born October 28, 1930 in Michigan City, IN to the late Leonard and Bertha (Pratt) Ludwig. On April 15, 1955 in Michigan City, Indiana he married Brigitte E.(Schwamm) Ludwig who preceded February 5, 2017.

Surviving are daughter, Christina (Gary) Kraemer of Trail Creek, IN; son, Niklas Ludwig of Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded in death by son, Michael Ludwig; brother, Edward Ludwig; two sisters, Mary Arndt, Sue Mohnssen.   

William retired as a self-employed contractor. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the VFW Post 2536 in Michigan City. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Michigan City. William enjoyed fishing and sailing, and his line of work as a contractor. William was very adventurous.
