Tordis Synove (Kristiansen) Kaczmarek

Tordis Synove Kaczmarek, 94, Plano, Texas, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at 9:22 am at her home in, Plano, TX.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN with  Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm, Monday, May 3, 2021 and from 8:30 - 9:30 am, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.    

She was born November 9, 1926 in Oslo, Norway to the late Sigurd E. and Hjordis (Nilsen) Kristiansen. On January 31, 1948 in Michigan City, IN she married Edwin K. Dutkiewicz who preceded December 27, 1981. She later married  Eugene Kaczmarek in 1999 who preceded in 2014.

Surviving are son, Edwin (Catherine) Dutkiewicz Jr. of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Denise (Randy) Smith of Plano, TX; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Jan Erik of Norway. She was preceded in death by 1 sister; 3 brothers; grandson, Nash.    

Tordis was a homemaker and was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and Sons of Norway for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading, watching old musicals on T.V., and baking Norwegian recipes.
