John A. "Jack" Krachinski
September 1, 1945 - July 13, 2021 

John A. "Jack" Krachinski, 75, Michigan CIty, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:20 am in Memorial Hospital of South Bend, South Bend, Indiana.

Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 am Saturday, August 7, 2021 in St. Stanislaus Cemetery with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating.  The American Legion Skwiat Post 451 Honor Guard will conduct full military services.
Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.    

He was born September 1, 1945 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late John J. and Helen (Bloniarz)  Krachinski. 

Surviving are daughter, Johnna Krachinski of Camp Hill, PA; son, Jason (Kellie Cales) Krachinski of Michigan City, Indiana; three Grandchildren, Amelia Paige Artley and Jack Orion Artley both of Camp Hill, Andrew Cales of Michigan City, Indiana; sister, Celeste (Marshall) Gostnell of Queens Creek, Arizona; He was preceded in death by brother, William "Bill" Krachinski;   

Jack was a veteran of the US Army, retired from the Michigan City Fire Dept after 27 years and then worked for the US Postal service in Michigan City as a maintenance engineer.  He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana and the American Legion Skwiat Post 451.  He was an avid beer connoisseur, avid  runner but due to knee issues had to switch to walking.  He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball with the Chicago White Sox being his favorite team.  Jack liked to work outside, except in the snow, and really loved the beach!  That man had a permanent tan.  He could be a crabby one but was a great guy and was a father figure to more than just his own children.
