Jeanne Marie Robinson, 73, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday,  November 17, 2022 at University of Chicago Hospital, Chicago, IL.

She was born June 21, 1949 in Michigan City, IN to the late Roger Brinkman and Geraldine (Smarzynski) Jenkins. 

In 1996 she and Douglas Robinson began their beautiful adventure together and on November 23, 2012 they married in their dream home in Michigan City, where they lived with their faithful companion, Olive. 

She is survived by her husband Douglas Robinson and her two daughters, Heather (Tom Trofimchuk) Medina of Chicago, IL and Angela (Herman) Longoria of Michigan City, IN; and three grandchildren, Elliot (Idalia Pacheco) Medina, Ethan Longoria and Lucas Longoria.              

She is also survived by two sisters, Christine (Jim) Harding of Indianapolis, IN, Laura Brinkman of Hueytown, AL;  and brother, Kevin (Natalie) Brinkman of Hoover, AL, sister-in-law Nancy (Thomas) Brinkman; 3 step-sons, Greg (Kristy) Robinson of Houghton Lake, MI, Todd (Lori) Robinson of New Buffalo, MI and Shaun (Kris) Robinson of Kalamazoo, MI; eight step-grandchildren, Tyler Robinson, Morgan Robinson, Casey Lippincott, Arron Lippincott, Stacy Robinson, Kyle Robinson, Julia Robinson, Brent Robinson, and 5 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Burns; and brother, Thomas Brinkman.

Jeanne was a loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a passionate advocate for equality and human rights, most notably women's, LGBTQ and civil rights. She was a voracious reader, lover of the arts, culture and animals, defender of democracy and an enthusiastic attendee at the Sinai Forum Speaker Series. She was also well known for her impeccable style, which informed everything she did. Jeanne worked for over 20 years at Hannah's Restaurant in New Buffalo, MI and at Heston Supper Club where she forged many wonderful friendships among regulars and co-workers. Her heart and her spark made the world more beautiful and bright. She will be missed by so many.

A celebration of life fellowship will be shared from 4:00 PM til 7:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2023 at Krueger Memorial Hall, 801 Liberty Trail, Michigan City, Indiana.  The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
