Jean Rae Humbers, 79, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 2:54 p.m. in VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso, Indiana.

A private graveside service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.  

She was born November 16, 1943, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Albert and Katherine (Johnson) Hinchman. On November 16, 1963 at St. Luke United Lutheran Church, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Bobbie Humbers, who preceded her in death July 24, 2006.

Surviving are one daughter, Ann (Steven) Bogart of Michigan City, Indiana; one son, David (Jill) Humbers of La Porte, Indiana; companion of 14 years, Don Snyder of Allentown, PA; sister, Katherine Fritz of Michigan City, Indiana; four grandchildren, Dylan Bogart, Ella Bogart, Elliot Bogart, and Albert Humbers; and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was a life-long member of St. Luke United Lutheran Church, Michigan City and a member of the Michigan City Senior Center, visiting regularly to play cards and dominoes.
