Gregory L. Switt, Sr.
April 13, 1948 - November 21, 2021 

Gregory L. Switt, Sr., 73, Portage, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 8:30 pm in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Portage, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. David Kime Officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.    

He was born April 13, 1948 in Westville, IN to the late Stanley and Mary (Petras) Switt. On August 29, 1987 in Michigan City, IN he married Darlene Butzler who survives in Portage, IN.

Also surviving are three sons, Bradley (Kris) Switt of Wells, MA, Gregory (Traci) Switt, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA  and Christopher (Marybeth) Switt of Tacoma, WA; four step-daughters, Jaime Lynch, Mickey Morrison, Katie Tener and, Jessica Girard; step-son, Andre Joseph, II; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Bork of Chicago, IL and Chris Burns of Channing, MI; and his brother, Robert Switt of Columbia, KY.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Eleanor Grafe, Judy Woodyard, Louise Milcarek and Dorothy Pischke; and his brother, William Switt. 

Gregory had worked as a steel worker at Bethlehem Steel and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching sports.
