Donald S. Smales, 69, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 6:15 am in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with  Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating. Private burial will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs, MI.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Thursday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.    

He was born January 8, 1952 in Chicago, IL to the late Ardee and Pollyanna (Howe) Smales. On August 22, 1981 in Michigan City, IN he married Tia Faust who survives in Michigan City, IN.

Also surviving are his brother, Richard (Sandy) Smales of Michigan City, IN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Donald retired as a transition manager at Infrastructure Management Services, Horsham, PA. He enjoyed golfing, canoeing and traveling
