Bridget "Dolly" Schiavone
December 19, 1927 - November 19, 2021 


Bridget "Dolly" Florence Schiavone (née Rossi), 93, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully Friday, November 19, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her beloved husband and family. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 10:00 am, Wednesday at the Legacy Center of Queen All Saints Catholic Church. Private burial will be held at a later date in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City IN is handling arrangements.    

Dolly was born December 19, 1927 in Chicago, IL to the late Louis and Anna (Carbone) Rossi. On December 11, 1949, she married Frank C. Schiavone in Chicago, IL.  

She is survived by her husband and her 5 children, Gerard (Lynn) Schiavone of Cincinnati, OH, Gary (Sue) Schiavone of Demotte, IN, Gina (Rick) Taylor of Michigan City, IN, Gail (Gary) Rusboldt of Michigan City, IN and Gidget (Earl) Griffin of Michigan City, IN.  

Also surviving are grandchildren, Greg (Robin) Schiavone, Christopher Schiavone, Alexa Schiavone, Monica Rusboldt, Jessica Griffin, Jacob Griffin, Jacqueline Moss, Ronald Moss, Adam Moss, and Nathan (Liz) Rohl. Great grandchildren, Landon, Carson, Breelyn Schiavone, Teagan Mason, and Ian Rohl.

Dolly is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Angelo Rossi, sister in law, Rose Marie Hendrickson, son, James Schiavone, granddaughter, Sara Rusboldt and niece Anna Ferguson.

Dolly loved her family and her life as a wife, mom, and Nonny.  Her home was always open to anyone she knew and her Italian cooking was loved by her family and friends.  Some of her favorite times included playing dominos, bingo, and bunco with her friends at Simeon Square and going to the casino to play the slot machines. She loved to tell stories about roller skating and dancing when she was young.  She enjoyed sitting outside in the warm sun and truly appreciated the beautiful things in life.   Dolly will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
