Kathryn J. Marciniak, 85, Plano, Illinois, formerly of Michigan City, IN, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 5:30 am in her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Kevin McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday and from 9:00 am - 10:00 am Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

She was born November 4, 1933 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Herman and Helen (Sack) Carter. On July 28, 1951 in Michigan City, IN she married William Marciniak who preceded her on April 18, 2015.

Surviving are two daughters, Debra Sample of Westville, IN and Penny (Frank) Scalici of Plano, IL; three sons, Stephen (Cheryl) Marciniak of Michigan City, IN, John (Karen) Marciniak of Florida and William (Kathi) Marciniak of Crystal Lake, IL; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Willis and Ruth Ann Leeds, both of Michigan City, IN.

She was also preceded in death by four grandchildren; and 5 sisters and 5 brothers.

Kathryn was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, Michigan City, IN and First Baptist Church, Plano, IL. She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and spending time with her family.
