Doris R. Shawley, 78, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 2:44 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.

A celebration of life gathering will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Monday, November 12, 2018 at the D.A.V. Chapter 23, 2301 Ohio St., Michigan City, IN. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

She was born August 3, 1940 in Buchanan, Michigan to the late Harry and Bertha (Nimtz) Truhn.

Surviving are her son, Douglas Barnett of Michigan City, IN; sister, Norma Stover of Berrien Springs, MI; two brothers, Ed (Florine) Truhn of Niles, MI and Frank (Elsie) Truhn of Berrien Springs, MI.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Lutine; and two brothers, Ralph and Harry Truhn.

Doris had worked at Life Care Center of Michigan CIty. She enjoyed fishing, being with family and friends and going to the casinos.
