Billy Gene Sheets, 83, Michigan City, Indiana, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 5:30 pm in Aperion Care Arbors at Michigan City.

A celebration of life gathering will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.

He was born June 14, 1935 in Truman, Arkansas to the late Chester and Mildred (Sullins) Sheets, Sr.

Surviving are two daughters, Kelly (Michael) Hogan of Michigan City, IN and Lisa (Allen) Ezell of Jeffersonville, IN; three step-daughters, Debbie (Garvin) Reynolds of Dallas, TX, Kimberly (Ted) Nieman of Michigan City, IN and Tammy Gordon of LaPorte, IN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Carl (Shirley) Sheets of Michigan City, IN.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alma Wondergem; and four brothers, Chester Jr., Joseph, James and Jack Sheets.

Billy worked as a pool installer and was a sponsor in A.A. for 30 years.
