William C. Smith , 61, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 7:44 pm in his home.

Funeral services and burial will take place in Oakland Memory Lanes, Dolton, IL.  The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.    

He was born August 9, 1960 in Blue Island, IL to Charles and Janet (Niedermeyer) Smith, Sr. On  in  he married Suzann(Jarka) Smithwho preceded .

Surviving are his wife, Suzann Smith of Michigan City, IN; two sons, William D. Smith and Garrett Smith, both of Indiana; two step-daughters, Rebecca Rydzinski of Bridgeman, MI, Julie Copeland of St. Joseph, MI; his mother, Janet Smith of Hobart, IN; three grandchildren, Ava Copeland, Neve Rydzinski and Harlee Kimball; two great-grandchildren, Karson Collins and Molly Collins; two sisters, Diana (Thomas) McClaran of Hobart, IN and Christine (Siegfried) Waldschmidt of La Porte, IN; and his brother, Charles (Juliene) Smith, Jr. of Valparaiso, IN.

He was preceded in death by father, Charles Smith, Sr.

William was a painter. He enjoyed painting, fixing things, games, puzzles and going to the beach to watch the sunset. William loved being with his family.
