Thomas C. Kalil, 74, Trail Creek, IN, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 6:34 am in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with  Rev. Gordon Kalil officiating. Private burial will take place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.    

He was born July 27, 1947 in Michigan City, IN to the late Charles and Julia (Nowfel) Kalil. 

Surviving are his wife Gwendolyn Jarrell of Trail Creek, IN; son, Thomas (Erika) Kalil, II of Michigan City, IN; two daughters, Courtney (Chuck) Martinez and Katie (Curt) Cipares, both of LaPorte, IN; two step-daughters, Julie (Tommy) Shannon of Michigan City, IN and Jamie (Jim) Blackwell) of Mill Creek, IN; step-son, Joshua (Colleen) Gambill of Elkhart, IN; brother, Rev. Gordon Kalil of LaPorte, IN; two sisters, Camille Kalil  and Cynthia (Dr. Richard ) Plank, both of LaPorte, IN; five grandchildren, Auttumn Gebbink, Kelsey Martinez, Zoie Martinez, Payton Kalil and Camille Cipares; great-grandchild, Adaline Gebbink; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by brother, John P. Kalil.  

Thomas was the owner at Tom's Custom Body Shop and he was a U.S. Air Force, 809th Red Horse Division Veteran of Vietnam . He was member of Michigan City Rifle Club and enjoyed talking to people. Thomas was a Notre Dame Football and Chicago White Sox fan.
