Sylvia M. Siegmund, 75, Michigan City, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 3:39 pm in her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 am -11:00 am, Wednesday at the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Legacy Center. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
She was born October 24, 1949 in Harvey, IL to the late Anthony and Genevieve (Foldenauer) Malecki. On November 29, 1969 in Michigan City, IN she married Larry Siegmund who preceded her on August 24, 2014.
Surviving are a daughter, Maria (Clayton) Lower of Michigan City, IN; four sons, Anthony (Judy) Siegmund of Michigan City, IN, Matthew (Jhana) Siegmund of Michigan City, IN, Mark Siegmund of La Porte, IN and Luke Siegmund of South Bend, IN; 13 grandchildren; five sisters, Joan (Peter) Edwards of Fargo, ND, Sandra (Don) Butler of Michigan City, IN, Sharon Hagenow of Westville, IN, Audrey (Paul) Hagenow of Stillwell, IN and Michele Pabis of Michigan City, IN; three brothers, Ralph (Mary) Malecki of Wanatah, IN, Paul (Joyce) Malecki of La Crosse, IN and Mark Malecki of Union Mills, IN.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Antoinette Edinger; and brother Theodore Malecki.
Sylvia had worked as an educator and was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church where she played the organ for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
