Stephen Duane Oszuscik
June 5, 1951 - October 30, 2024
Stephen Duane Oszuscik, 73, Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at home with his family.
He was born on June 5, 1951, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Alexander Emil and Margaret (Kaminski) Oszuscik. On June 17, 1972, in Michigan City, Indiana he married Johanna (Wisthoff) Oszuscik, who survives in Trail Creek.
Also surviving are his daughter, Kristin (Nathaniel Stone) Kemper of Westfield, Indiana; son, Patrick Oszuscik of Arkansas; brother, Keith (Patricia) Oszuscik of Plymouth, Indiana; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Wisthoff of Michigan City, Indiana and James Wisthoff of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Sheila (Frank) Smalling of Traverse City, Michigan and Donna Wisthoff of Knightstown, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Lawerence Wisthoff and Daniel Kutch; and sister-in-law, Retta Wisthoff.
Steve was a member of the Michigan City Senior Center. He was active in volunteering for Meals on Wheels of La Porte County. Steve was a avid sports fan of Notre Dame, Chicago Black Hawks, and the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoyed bowling and the Three Stooges. He owned a bowling alley in Culver, Indiana for several years with his brother. Steve was a great husband and father, who loved his family very much, taking pride in caring for them.
A celebration of life will be held privately with family. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, is handling the arrangements.
