Stephen Craig O'Hair
July 11, 1963 - February 9, 2026
Stephen “Craig” O’Hair, 62, went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Valerie; his children, Daniel (Lauren) Hollenbeck of Seminole, FL; Rachel (David) Grant of Seminole, FL; Josh (Jenny) O’Hair of Seminole, FL; and Laura (Thomas) Moore of Shelbyville, IN; and his cherished grandchildren, Allie and Landon Hollenbeck; Mason and Parker Grant; Wyatt, Jake, and Remi O’Hair; and Harrison Moore. He is also survived by his parents, Dean and Wanda Wehrman of Greencastle, IN; his brothers, Ryan (Stephanie) Wehrman of Fishers, IN, and Chad (Melanie) Wehrman of Mahomet, IL; and his nieces and nephews, Alex, Elaina, Cade, and Sloane.
Craig was born July 11, 1963, in Greencastle, Indiana. At the age of 21, he trusted Christ as his Savior; a decision that shaped the course of his life. He was a longtime faithful member of Fairhaven Baptist Church where he served for 35 years in the bus ministry, sharing Christ’s love with children. He also spent several years mentoring in the church’s addictions program and, in recent years, conducted weekly services at a local assisted living facility, where many came to know the Lord as their Savior. Craig worked as a salesman at Arnell Chevrolet for over 25 years and later at Thomas Kia in Highland, where he formed many lasting friendships. He loved the outdoors and, over his lifetime, climbed the Seven Summits of the Tetons. He especially enjoyed hiking and visiting national parks with his wife. As a young man, he enjoyed sports; particularly basketball.
A memorial service honoring Craig’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Fairhaven Baptist Church, Chesterton, IN, with Pastor Jeremiah Mitchell officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in the church auditorium. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
Craig will be remembered for the deep love he had for his family, his bold Christian witness, and his faithful service to his Lord and Savior.
