August 18, 1999 - July 17, 2021 

Spc. Lucas Mannon Poehl, U.S. Army, 21, LaPorte, IN, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 in LaPorte, IN.

Private services will be conducted. Burial will take place in Union Christian Cemetery, Veedersburg, IN. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.    

He was born August 18, 1999 in Michigan City, IN to Mark and Beth (Scaggs) Poehl who survive in LaPorte, IN.

Also surviving are his sister, Ariana Poehl of LaPorte, IN; grandmother, Shirley Scaggs of LaPorte, IN; aunts and uncles, Tim (Susan) Poehl, Kim (Mike) Abbey, Karen (Doug) Small, Mark (Patti) Scaggs, Kathy (Scott) Weber and Debbie (Steve) Schlang; and cousins, Josh, Amanda, Caitlin, Johnathan, Alexandra, Rick, Miles, Kemmery, Jeania, Sarah, Anne, Sam, Ben, Hana, Jake, Dustin, Caleb, Levi, Isabella, Alistair, Henry, Maive, Lana, Kline, Trey, Olivia, Alex and Patrick.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Norma Poehl and Robert Scaggs; uncle, Rick Scaggs; aunt, Patricia Scaggs; and his beloved dog, Luna Lovegood;   

Lucas was an elite weight lifter, an avid reader and a history buff. He enjoyed, snow skiing, water sports, boating, gaming, tennis, soccer, wrestling, fishing and going to the beach.
