Shirley A. VanScyoc, 88, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 6:50 am in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Michigan City, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Private family burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 pm -3:00 pm, in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.
She was born November 24, 1935 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Anthony E.and Zahay (Daher) Serhal. On March 29, 1958 in Michigan City,Indiana she married Robert VanScyoc who preceded her in death on July 7, 2005. Surviving are two sons, Robert M. VanScyoc of Lexington, South Carolina, Christopher (Rinda) VanScyoc of La Porte, Indiana; grandchildren, Hannah (Dakota) Leopard, Joseph VanScyoc, Alexandria Eskridge, Jillian Eskridge,and Zane Eskridge; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Johnathan Leopard; brother, Robert (Joan) Serhal of West Lafayette, Indiana; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Tabisz, Ruth Komp, Alice Morse, and Martha Serhal along with her brothers, Anthony, Joseph, Naseb, Edward, Ernest Serhal, and Ernest J. Serhal;
Shirley was a member of Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana. She was formerly employed at Pullman Standard, Weil-McLain Mfg, Colonial Bakery and Franciscan Health-Michigan City in the medical records department and the communication center for many years. She still enjoyed the gatherings and fellowship with the Pullman-Standard and Franciscan Health groups.
