Sheryl Ann Maple , 58, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026.
A time of visitation will be from 1:00 pm -3:00 pm, Friday, January 9, 2026 in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with a Celebration of Life gathering and military honors immediately following at the John Franklin Miller American Legion Post #37, 756 US Highway 20, Michigan City, Indiana.
She was born August 31, 1967 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late James T. and Mary A. (Emerson) Maple.
Surviving are twin daughters, Stephanie (Jeremy ) Morrison of Michigan City, Indiana, and Sandra (Ervin) Starrett of South Bend, Indiana; son, Kevin (Mary) Jones, Jr. of Mishawaka, Indiana; seven
grandchildren, Gregory Hines, II, Kloe Hines, Mia Morrison, Maci Morrison, Landon Jones, Payton Jones, and Grayson Jones; sister, Nancy (Chris) Williamson of Howell, Michigan; and former spouse & good friend, Kevin Jones, Sr. of Michigan City, Indiana along with her beloved pet dogs, Huey and Bailey. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Maple;
Sheryl was employed by the Michigan City Area Schools in food service. She also worked for her sister's company AMI for over 20 years. She handled the payroll, their accounting, etc. She was an animal and foster rescuer. She enjoyed cooking, reading, cross stitching, painting, riding her motorcycle while seeing the country and a volunteer for many organizations. Halloween was her absolute most favorite holiday, she would go all out, and loved scaring people. Sheryl was very proud of her accomplishments while holding her 2nd degree black belt. She also was a US Army veteran and a member of the John Franklin Miller American Legion Post #37, Michigan City, Indiana.
