She was born on March 4, 1955, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Robert E. and Carolyn (Frillman) Rentz.
Sharon is survived by her brother, Randall Rentz of Wapakoneta, Ohio; two children, Bethany (Dory) Hannoun of Michigan City, Indiana and Greg (Nami) Swallow of Indianapolis, Indiana; four grandchildren, Julian and Jonah Hannoun, Lily Novak, and Madeline Swallow; and three nephews, R.J. Sharon was a lifelong devotee to service, being a beloved employee of Carpet Town, in La Porte, Indiana, as well as, Strack and Van Til, in Valparaiso, Indiana. She loved visiting her grandchildren (and chickens), having margaritas with her girlfriends on a regular basis at Hacienda, attending blues music festivals, and perfecting her father’s baking recipes. One of her grandest memories was traveling abroad to Greece.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/. On her passing, Sharon would like to remind us all of a lyric from one of her favorite songs: Keep our heads to the sky.
