Sara Beth Rusboldt, 34, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 12:21 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Indiana.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 and from 8:30 am - 9:30 am Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Private family burial will be held at a later date at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana.
She was born August 22, 1986 in Michigan City, IN to Gary and Gail (Schiavone) Rusboldt who survive in Michigan City, Indiana.
Also surviving are sister, Monica Rusboldt; grandparents, Frank and Bridget (Dolly) Schiavone; goddaughter, Teagan Mason; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and best fur-babies, Marley and Bailey. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer and Mary (Lucille) Rusboldt.
Sara graduated from Indiana University and loved the Hoosiers. She was a devoted 4th grade teacher at St. Stanislaus School and adored her students that she affectionately called "her babies." She loved a pool day with her cousins, spending time with her Nonny and Poppy, and anything related to the TV show Friends.
Sara's brave journey with cancer will be remembered with fearlessness and her incredibly mighty demeanor. Her parents, sister, family, friends, and pets meant the world to her. She constantly thought of their feelings and went above and beyond to make others smile. Sara is known for her strength, courage, and selflessness. Her grace is admirable.
A special thank you to Loyola University Medical Center, especially the lung transplant and pulmonary teams, for their continued dedication and true love they showed for Sara and her family.
