Roman Z. Idkowiak, 72, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 1:32 pm at his home in, Michigan City, Indiana.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.

He was born August 19, 1948 in Katowice, Poland to the late Zygmunt and Leonora Idkowiak. On September 23, 1978 in New Buffalo, Michigan he married Nancy (Oselka) Idkowiak who survives in Michigan City, Indiana.

Also surviving are son, Adam Idkowiak of Michigan City, IN; daughter, Bridget (Eric) Fischer of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; sister, Henia Adamczyk of Wladyslawowo, Poland; two grandchildren, Elijah and Brynlee; nephew, Bartek Adamczyk of Wladyslawowo, Poland. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Roman retired as a school bus driver for Michigan City School Corp. He proudly served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and was a past commander of the New Buffalo, Michigan Yacht Club. Roman loved animals, fishing, bowling, and watching old western and war movies.
