Robert L. Smith Jr., 46, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 4:06 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Michigan City, Indiana.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 17, 2020 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm, Thursday, July 16, 2020 and from 8:30 am - 9:30 am, Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.

He was born March 12, 1974 in Michigan City, IN to Robert L. and Judith (Quartuch) Smith. On November 3, 2001 in Michigan City, Indiana he married Jennifer (Luce) Smith who survives in Michigan City, Indiana.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert David Smith of Michigan City, IN, Joseph Douglas Smith of Michigan City, IN; two daughters, Olivia Ann Smith of Michigan City, IN, Gabriella Katherine Smith of Michigan City, IN; brother, Steve (Cara) Smith of South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by father, Robert L. Smith, Sr.

Robert worked for the State of Indiana as a social worker for the past 15 years. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Michigan City and was also very involved in youth sporting events as a coach.
