Robert Lee McCullough Sr.
March 17, 1944 - September 5, 2025

Robert Lee McCullough, 81, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:48 p.m. in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025 at La Porte Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1480 Boyd Blvd., La Porte, IN with Pastor Lee Whitman officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the church. A private committal will take place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling the arrangements.

He was born on March 17, 1944, in San Pierre, Indiana, to the late John and Pansy (Armentrout) McCullough. On April 15, 2008, in La Porte, Indiana, he married Koste (Lazdauskaite) McCullough, who survives in Michigan City.

Also surviving are his son, Robert McCullough, Jr. of Michigan City, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Franklin Schroeder, Patrick Schroeder, Miranda Schroeder, Austin Beatty, Kevin McCullough, Jr., Eve McCullough, and Destiny Beatty; and nine great-grandchildren, Leahm Schroeder, Gage Warren, Islah Rodrigez, Penelope Beatty, Cion Rodrigez, Amira Beatty, Isaac Rodrigez, Namiko Beatty, and Kataleya Rodrigez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Elaine McCullough; two daughters, Cheryl Zychowski and Candace Beatty; and one son, Kevin McCullough.

Robert was many things in life. He was the most loving son, brother, father, husband and grandfather. The thing he cherished most in life was his family. Robert spent many days and hours with his children, grandchildren and wife. He was a very hard-working man, he had worked for the railroad for 43 years. Robert also enjoyed working very hard in his garden. He enjoyed giving and caring for others.

Friend, family, or even a stranger, Robert loved to give. He enjoyed sharing interesting, crazy stories from working on the railway or childhood. Robert enjoyed time with his church friends and family. He was a very caring, giving, and gentle man who will be missed dearly.
