Robert LeRoy Gilreath, 91, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at 5:21 am in his home.

Private services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.    

He was born July 13, 1934 in La Porte, IN to the late Robert B. and Elmina (Procter) Gilreath. On August 27, 1955 in Chicago, IL he married Dorothy Swierkosz who preceded him on July 15, 2020.

Surviving are his daughter, Katherine (Michael) Martin of South Bend, IN; two sons, Robert J. (Elizabethe) Gilreath of Hubbell, MI and Joseph J. (Kathy Kwiatkowski, deceased) Gilreath of Michigan City, IN; five grandchildren, Kellie (John) Davis, Brian (Allison Deters) Klosinski, Robert R. (Myra) Gilreath, Paul (Caitlin Lippart) Gilreath and Sarah (Cory) Jokela; great-granddaughter, Eleanor "Nora"; and a sister, Roxanne Neier of Arizona.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Gilreath; and grandson, Anthony Klosinski.   

Robert was the retired owner of Springlake Sales, Michigan City, IN. He was a founding member of the Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed traveling and photography.
