Robert Alan Ferrell
January 19, 1960 - March 25, 2025
Robert Alan Ferrell, 65, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 6:45 p.m. in Northwest Health - Porter, Valparaiso, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2025 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Jacob McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral chapel.
He was born on January 19, 1960, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Clarence Fuller and Violet Bessie (Boyer) Ferrell.
Surviving are his three children, Samantha Ferrell of Warrensburg, Missouri and Alex Ferrell and Scott Ferrell both of Michigan City, Indiana; two brothers, Carl (Carol) Chapman Jr. of Somerset, Pennsylvania and Tom Chapman of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Janice (Tim) Rowlison of Three Oaks, Michigan; sister-in-law, Sandy Chapman of Birdsnest, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Chapman and Alvin Ferrell.
Robert honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a welder and fabricator for Jet Fabrications, Marine Developers, and for the rail road. He was a motorcycle rider, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Robert was a hardcore Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State, and Pittsburgh Pirates fan, and he always enjoyed a good John Wayne movie. He could tell one heck of a story, being knowledgeable in many subjects in history. One of his nicknames were Giggles. Robert was part of many different organizations including; The Wall Gang, V.F.W. Post 2536 M.C., D.A.V. Chapter 23 of Michigan City, Guardian Riders, and had 25 years of sobriety with the Dunes House Program, being a inspiration to people's lives in the program as well. He leaves behind his favorite Rottweiler, Ralph, his buddy and friend. Robert will be missed deeply by his club members, family, and friends.
