Raymond A. Dovey, 73, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, at 12:52 a.m. at Franciscan Health-Michigan City.
Private family services will be conducted. Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington Street, Michigan City, Indiana, is entrusted with arrangements.
Raymond was born on July 2, 1952, in Lincoln City, Lincolnshire, England, to the late Sydney and Nancy Dovey. On July 3, 2003, in Goshen, Indiana, he married Laura (Miller) Dovey, who survives in Michigan City.
Also surviving are two sons, Gavin (Gia) Dovey of New York, New York, and Oliver (Eirini) Dovey of the United Kingdom; one daughter, Sarah (Manuel) Catena of the United Kingdom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sydney and Nancy Dovey, and by his sister, Linda Dovey.
Raymond retired from the British Army after faithfully serving his country for 25 years. Following his retirement, he moved to the United States in 2003. He was a member of the Church of England. One of his greatest passions was watching his beloved Lincoln City Imps football club play. Raymond also cherished quiet moments spent with his cat, Sammy, and enjoying conversation over a cup of hot tea.
