Patrick Joseph “Pat” Pizarek, 89, of Michigan City Indiana passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026. He was born on March 4, 1937 in Pine Township, Porter county Indiana to Edward Pizarek and Henrietta Caroline Schmidt Pizarek.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary, Henrietta, Susannah and brothers Edward, Aloysius, Jerome and Gerald. He is survived by his brother Frederick.
Patrick attended St. Mary’s Catholic Grade and High School In Michigan City and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in May 1956. Pat served in the Marine Corps from February 1957 until March of 1960. Afterwards he returned to Michigan City to work at Josam Manufacturing Company where he worked for many years as a Draftsman. Later, he owned and operated a Lake Michigan Tackle at the corner of Franklin and Williams street in Michigan City. Pat had a strong interest in fishing and bow hunting and often went hunting in the Hoosier National Forest and in the State of Michigan.
Emulating the late Bob Ross, Pat developed a special talent for art, painting Lake Michigan beaches and lighthouses among many other subjects.
In recent years, Pat has spent the winter months in Torremolinos Spain on the Mediterranean coast.
A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
