Patrick T. Bergerson

March 15, 1939 - April 16, 2019

Patrick T. Bergerson, 80, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 8:25 am in Life Care Center of Michigan City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1010 Moore Road, Long Beach, IN with Rev. Keith McClellan officiating and full military services being conducted. Private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday and from 9:30 am - 10:15 am Tuesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN. A wake service will be conducted at 5:00 pm and the American Legion John Franklin Miller Post 37 will conduct a memorial service at 5:30 pm, both Monday in the funeral chapel.

He was born March 15, 1939 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to the late Melvin and Mary Jane (Dugan) Bergerson. 

Surviving are his wife, Patrice of Michigan City, IN;  a daughter, Denise (Damian) Delaney of Michigan City, IN; two sons, Dr. Joseph (Marcia) Bergerson of Phoenix, AZ and John Bergerson of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Kailyn Delaney, Daniela Bergerson and Joshua Bergerson; his siblings, Norah (late Don) Dotson, Peter (Connie) Bergerson, Ellie (Frank) Parkerson, Michael (Debbie) Bergerson and Mary Ann Ahern; sister-in-law, Suellen Bergerson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Dennis Bergerson; and brother, Martin Bergerson.

Pat retired as an a Real Estate Appraiser and had owned and operated B & K Root Beer Stand as well being a substitute teacher for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam and was a graduate of Campion Jesuit High School, Prairie du Chien, WI and the University of Dayton. Pat was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, American Legion John Franklin Miller Post 37, Past President of the Marquette Blazers Club and Co-Founder of the Babe Ruth Baseball League. He enjoyed coaching and was very active in the Notre Dame Elementary School sports program. Pat was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears and Notre Dame fan. His family was most important to him.
