Pam A. Pitt, 86, La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 9:30 a.m., in her home.

A celebration of Pam's life will be held Summer of 2024, details to be determined. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

She was born on July 18, 1937, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late William John "Jack" and June Louise (Morris) Pittsford. At the age of 12, Pam tragically lost her parents in a car accident. 

On May 19, 1990, in Chicago, Illinois, she married the love of her life, George Pitt, who preceded her in death March 5, 2016. Her previous husband, George Karm, preceded her in death in 1995.

Surviving are one daughter, Debra (Jerry) Carpenter of Columbia City, Indiana; two sons, Michael (Dawn) Karm of Lowell, Indiana and Gregory (Jill) Karm of Elgin, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Jack Carpenter, Elizabeth (Josh) Newton, Nicole Karm, and Heather Karm. Pam was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, June Elizabeth Karm; and one brother, Paul Pittsford.

Pam graduated in 1956 from Elston High School. Once employed at Fox Jewelry (Marquette Mall), Michigan City, Indiana, and proudly and bravely worked on a Zapata oil rig out of Brownsville, Texas. Also, she married George Pena while employed for PHI Helicopter, Freeport, Texas. Pam and her husband, George Pitt were stewards for the Sharing Meadows Foundation for many years. She enjoyed spending time on Lake Michigan.
