Nettie V. Ellis, 86, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025 at 2:08 am in Brickyard Heathcare - Valparaiso, Valparaiso, Indiana.
Private family services were conducted and burial took place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.
She was born November 11, 1939 in Waskom, Texas to the late Ray Howard and Susie (Harris) Lindsay. On June 29, 1964 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Willie F. Ellis who preceded her in death on March 22, 2016.
Surviving are three daughters, Charrie (Jason) Liebig, Karen Milner-Ashley, and Nichelle Ellis; two sons, Cedric (LaToya) Milner, and Kingsley Ellis; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; along 8 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Lulac Backus, and Susanne Wiggins; brother, David Lindsay; three special-friends, Dale White, Ester Davis and Marilyn Perteet; She was preceded in death by son, Ronnie Milner; great-grandchild , La'Karia Ashley; three sisters, Delores Howard, Annie Pearl Thornton, and Johnnie Clark; two brothers, James Harris, and Ervin Howard;
Nettie worked for Arno Tape, Michigan City,Indiana, Foamex, and retired from Howmet Corp., both of La Porte, Indiana. She then worked part-time security at Blue Chip Casino, Michigan City, Indiana. She enjoyed visiting Blue Chip Casino, cooking and gardening. Nettie didn't travel all that much, but the places she did visit, truly enjoyed.
