Michael Joseph Volk, 71, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 10:40 p.m. in Franciscan Health, Michigan City.

No services will be held. Burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling the arrangements.    

Michael was born on March 19, 1953, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Elwood and Edna (Krumkowski) Volk.

Surviving are his two brothers, David Matthew Volk and Elwood (Diana) Volk Jr. both of Michigan City, Indiana; one sister, Kathleen Volk of Michigan City, Indiana; four nephews, Nicholas Volk, Brian Volk, Mark Volk, and Jason Volk; and niece, Lori (Volk) Lykins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael retired after 51 years as a sales associate from CVS Pharmacy. He was close with his brother, David, spending a lot of time together. Michael liked to work with his hands building things. He loved to fish and was kind to animals, owning a few dogs over the years. 

He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, Michigan City. Before the pandemic, he ushered there at the church.
