Mary "Joann" Hroma
January 20, 1947 - February 12, 2024
Mary "Joann" Hroma, 77, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 12, 2024 in her home.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
She was born on January 20, 1947, in Hickory, North Carolina, to the late Columbus and Mary Jane (Roberts) Worsham. On January 20, 1988, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Charles T. Hroma, who survives in Michigan City, Indiana.
Also surviving are her five children, Chuck Keener, David (Jennifer) Keener, Matthew Keener, Rachel Hroma, and Chuck (Tiffanie) Worsham; mother-in-law, Lorraine Hroma; fourteen grandchildren, Kristy, Dylan, and Brandon Keener, Joel (Maria) Santure, Jordan (Gabby) Pritz, Collin and Sarah Keener, Ian Keener, Sidney Johnson, Madison, Josh, Jake, Easton, and Camden Worsham; eight great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Merrill, Kira Keener, Kamdyn Thomason, Kendell Thomason, Brayden and Quinn Santure, Jaxon and Nova Pritz; one great-great-grandchild, Kinsley Bryan; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great friends; and the ladies on Gardena Street. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donny Keener; and three brothers, Herbert, Wade (wife, Betty), and Charles (wife, Sylvia) Worsham.
Joann retired from Hallmark but continued to work at Queen of All Saints School and Coolspring Elementary. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and many antique and garage sale adventures. Joann was an avid foodie, she enjoyed baking and trying many different foods, never forgetting to take a photo. She was a member of the Moose Family Center 980, and the Michigan City Senior Center. Joann was a passionate woman who enjoyed her next big or small win on casino slot machines. Joann loved her whole family deeply and cherished spending time with them, creating memorable memories that will never be forgotten.
