Jeanette Eason, 76, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 1:48 AM in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Indiana

She was born July 29, 1944, in Michigan City, IN to the late Howard and Anna Lee (Stewart) McDonald.  
She attended Pine School, Wheaton Christian School, Elston High School and received her B.S. in Elementary Education at Bryan College and her master’s from Purdue University.  

She began teaching school in Bartow, Florida and then returned home to teach at Garfield, Joy, and Pine School.

Surviving are nephews, Robert (Diana) McDonald, Driggs, Idaho, James (Sarah) McDonald, London, Ontario, Canada, and Daniel (Christina), Driggs, Idaho.  Other close family members, her uncle, Philip Smith, Cousins, Beth (Duane) Seifert, and Tom (Sue) Smith all from Michigan City, Indiana.

Her nieces and nephews are, Anna, Sarah, David, Henry, Haddon, Hudson, Charlotte, Driggs, Idaho, Marie, Victoria, Lena, and Vivian Jeanette, London, Ontario.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Anna Lee McDonald,  brother, Raymond McDonald, aunt Gerri Stewart Smith and daughter, Suzannah Eason and son, David Eason.

Jeanette was a member of Michigan City Christian Church, P.E.O. and ISTA/NEA/MCEA.  She was a former member of the Michigan City Service League.  She enjoyed reading, gardening and listening to southern gospel music.

Visitation will be at the Michigan City Christian Church on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10:00 AM until the Celebration of her life at 11:00 AM.  Please bring your fond memories of Jeanette to share. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
