Mark B. Woolum

Mark B. Woolum, 60, Portage, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 5:40 am in St. Mary Medical Center, Hobart, Indiana.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Full Gospel House Church, 2700 Ohio St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am -1:00 pm, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.    

He was born December 14, 1960 in Pineville, KY to the late Charles and Lola May (Bailey) Woolum. On May 1, 1992 in Porter County, Indiana he married Dusty (Snell) Woolum who survives in Portage, Indiana.

Also surviving are two daughters, Christy Woolum of Michigan City, IN, Ashley Andrews of Portage, IN; two sons, Matthew (Candice) Woolum of Schererville, IN, Mark Woolum of Portage, IN; three granddaughters, Reba Andrews, Rebeka Andrews, Makayla Moore; three brothers, Terry (Pam) Woolum, Douglas (Kim Thompson) Woolum, Luke Woolum; sister, Pamela Woolum; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by sister, Lynn Culpepper; two brothers, Brian Woolum, Wayne Woolum.  

Mark retired January 21, 2017 from Westville Correctional Facility after working there for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching all types of sports, including the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Black Hawks, NASCAR, and horse racing. Mark loved to go fishing, go to casinos, and enjoyed cooking.
