Mark Anthony Kniola, 66, Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 with his wife Cindy and family members at his side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington St., Michigan City, with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Private burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Church. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.

He was born September 30, 1956, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Max A. and Valeria "Val" (Marciniak) Kniola. 

On November 22, 1980, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Cynthia Elizabeth (Tweardy) Kniola.

Mark leaves behind his loving wife, Cindy Kniola; and three loving children, Adam (Kailey) Kniola of Noblesville, IN, Matthew (Joy) Kniola of La Porte, IN, and Kathryn (Ashton) Faramelli of Noblesville, IN. Dzia Dzia was well loved by his two grandchildren, Rowan and Remi Kniola; and was expecting one grandchild due in August 2023. He is also survived by his one sister, Debbie (Tom) Irk; one brother, Jeff (Pat) Kniola; two nieces, Jenny Irk and Amber (Matt) Wanke; and two nephews, Mike (Brier) Irk and Carson Kniola.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, David Kniola.

A graduate of Rogers High School and attended Gary Methodist, graduating as a Paramedic and EMT. Mark loved boating all his life, he skied in various forms from the water to snow skiing and also biked all around Michigan. His kids remember him mostly being a wonderful Dad who with his wife provided them countless opportunities and experiences.
