Marilyn Torrez, 56, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at 9:01 am in her home.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 12:00 PM in Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, 606 So. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. William O'Toole officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN 46360.

She was born May 23, 1965 in Lares, Puerto Rico to the late Mr. and Santa Pura (Montijo) Alicea.  On April 28, 1980 in Chicago, Illinois she married Louis Torrez, Sr.who survives Michigan City, Indiana.  Also surviving are daughter, Marilyn (Mitchell Tatum) Torrez, Jr. of Michigan City, Indiana; three sons, Gilbert (Rita) Torrez, Sr. of Michigan City, Indiana, Louis (Rita) Torrez, Jr., Joliet, Illinois and Gregory Torrez of California, Grandchildren, Sylas, Dalysia, Tristyn, Courtney, Gilbert, Jr., Julian, Jayden, Aries, Athena and Phoenix; great family friend, Rick Peyton of Michigan City, Indiana along with 6 Brothers and 1 sister; She was preceded in death by a sister;   

Marilyn for 37 years was a beautician having worked in Chicago, JC Penney's Salon, Hair Corps Salon, and Judy K's Beauty Salon.  She was an avid bowler participating in numerous leagues.  She also was the only female pool player in the Thursday night pool league at 3 Sheets Bar.  Everything she did was for the love of her grandchildren.
