Maria F. Kuhnel, 75, Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 2:38 pm in her home.

Private family services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

She was born May 4, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Frank and Jane (Waters) Kuhnel.

Surviving are three Daughters, Valerie (William) Ginther of Trail Creek, IN, Samantha Chapala of Michigan City, IN and Andrea Kuhnel of Michigan City, IN; two sons, Frank (Ashley) Mizer and Jesse (Andrea) Mizer, both of Michigan City, IN; eleven grandchildren, Steven, Brandon, Amber, Jeffrey, Matthew, Mark, Nicole, Ayden, Bradley, Melanie and Christopher; several great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Wozniak of Michigan City, IN; and two brothers, Christian (Birdie) Kuhnel of South Carolina and Michael (Jane) Kuhnel of Ketteirng OH.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Lance Mizer; and two grandchildren, Logan and Michael.

She retired as a nurse at Gary Methodist Hospital. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Michigan City, IN. Maria enjoyed laser tag, family trips to Six Flags Great America and spending time with her family.
