Margaret E. Mansfield, 69, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 2:24 am in her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1010 Moore Road, Long Beach, IN with  Rev. Keith McClellan officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:30 - 10:00 am Tuesday at the church.

She was born October 20, 1953 in Skokie, IL to the late Phillip N. and Rosemary (McCann) Horan. In 1994  in Michigan City, IN she married Kyle T. Kuchik who survives in Michigan City, IN.

Also surviving are her daughter, Molly (Sam) Trout of Michigan City, IN; step-daughter, Dejon (Daniel) Coapstick of Michigan City, IN; step-son, Myles (Adrienne) Kuchik of Indianapolis, IN; a special nephew, Isaac Horan and five grandchildren, James Trout, Alex Coapstick, Makaylee Coapstick, Maxwell Kuchik and Elloise Kuchik.  Also surviving are many nephews and cousins. 

She also was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip J. Horan.

Margaret was a 1971 graduate of Elston High School in Michigan City.  Margaret had worked in the sales and advertising industry and ended her career as a care-giver. Margaret used to play softball and enjoyed swimming and being with her grandchildren.  Margaret’s bigger than life and open heart made it easy to create so many special relationships with everyone who knew her.  Margaret’s relationship with her daughter Molly is one that people dream of.
