Lyle W. Bentley, 91, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 6:54 pm in his home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 pm, Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

He was born December 11, 1928 in Michigan City, IN to the late Albert and Mabel (Ryckman) Bentley. On April 14, 1951 in Waterford, IN he married Alberta Heisler who preceded him on November 17, 2012.

Surviving are daughter, Linda (Anthony) Keogh of Dublin, Ireland; son, David (Deanna) Bentley of Rosemount, MN; four Grandchildren, Abbey (Gene) Chambers of Michigan City, IN, Bryan (Amy) Bentley of Lakeville, MN, Joseph Bentley of Rosemount, MN and Mitchell (Chelsea) Nieland of Burnsville, MN; seven Great-Grandchildren, Brooklyn Chambers, Benson Chambers, Madelynn Nieland, Raiden Nieland, Kyla Bentley, Kase Bentley and Claire Bentley; and his sister, Betty Ungrait of Indiana.

He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Ralph Bentley and Robert Bentley.

Lyle retired after 70 years as a plumber with the U.A. Plumbers Local 210 and was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and the outdoors.
