Leona Schultz, 94, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 8:10 am in Hamilton Communities, Inc., New Carlisle, Indiana.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation hours will be from 4:00 pm -6:00 pm, Tuesday in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana and from 10:00 am until time service Wednesday in Queen of all Saints Catholic Church.
She was born May 1, 1926 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Clemens and Johanna (Poszywala) Fischer. On November 22, 1947 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Howard J. Schultz who preceded her in death on October 26, 2002. Surviving are two daughters, Susan (Brian) Pagels and Patricia "Pat" McCormick; two sons, Dennis (Mary) Schultz and Ronald (Dianna) Schultz all of La Porte, Indiana; five grandchildren, Erica (Michael) Iacovetti, Joseph (Kelly) Schultz, Derek (Christina) Schultz, Ashley Schultz and Abbey Schultz; seven great-grandchildren, Dominic Iacovetti, Micaela Iacovetti, Alec Schultz, Bryant Schultz, Marissa Schultz, Kennedy K. Schultz and Ava Schultz; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Cockshott; She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Maria Anne Iacovetti and a brother, Robert Fischer;
Leona retired after many years as a Bartender/Waitress at Rose Bowl Bowling Alley, Michigan City, Indiana. She was a member of Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, VFW Post 2536 Women's Auxlilary and was a 1943 graduate of St. Mary's High School (Marquette Catholic High School). Her hobbies included gardening, bowling and loved to play the card game canasta.
