Leanna F. "Lee" Beck-Skwarcan, 62, Elkhart, Indiana, formerly of Michigan City, Indiana passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the home of her sister, Mary, surrounded by her loving family after a seven year battle with cancer.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm, Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.
She was born February 10, 1954 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Delmos Lynwood and Mary Catherine (Brant) Beck. She was the oldest of five girls.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Skwarcan of Elkhart, IN; son, Matthew B. Bush of Michigan City, IN; granddaughter, Payton Bush of Michigan City, IN; four sisters, Mary (Bill) Cook of Michigan City, IN, Betty (Mike Knox) Sergent of Chesterton, IN, Linda (Paul ) Smith of Tomball, TX and Karen (Ron) Berard of North Grosvenordale, CT; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Brenford Sergent, Jr.
Lee graduated from Rogers High School in 1972. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in food and nutrition and went on to earn a degree in physical therapy. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, traveling, dancing, concerts and home decorating. Her favorite thing to do was to have picnics and watch the sunsets at the beach.
