December 8, 1963 - November 26, 2025

LeAnn Comer, 61, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in Community Hospital, Munster, Indiana.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN is handling the arrangements.

She was born on December 8, 1963, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Keith and Judy (Proll) Huddens. On March 20, 1997, she married Ricky D. Comer, who preceded her in death December 27, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her four children, Chris (Tiffany) Price of Mooresville, North Carolina, Timothy (Alicia) Smithman of  Michigan City, Indiana, Brandon Henry of Elgin, Oklahoma, and Samantha Henry of Michigan City, Indiana; three brothers, Wade (Linda) Heddens of New Haven, Indiana, Robert Heddens of Michigan City, Indiana, and Keith Heddens of Hammond, Indiana; six grandchildren, Maddie Price, Chandler Lockhart, Joel Lockhart, Gavin Henry, Vanessa Henry, and Ryder Smithman; and close friend, Justine (Mark) Newkirk. 

LeAnn was well known throughout Michigan City for her warm hospitality as she served the community at some of City's favorite restaurants. Gardening was one of LeAnn’s greatest passions, and she took great delight in cultivating a beautiful yard. Her enthusiasm for collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia added a unique touch to her home. In recognition of her dedication to gardening and it produced, Michigan City awarded her for her outstanding yard. Anyone who knew LeAnn understood the pride she felt for her children. Her love for her family was especially evident in the joy she found in being a grandmother, a role she cherished deeply.
