Karen Elaine Lemons, 68, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 7:59 p.m. in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.
Private services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
She was born on July 6, 1955, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Ward and Betty (Lain) Eikelberg. On March 3, 1978, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Stephan Lemons, who preceded her in death December 17, 2021.
Surviving are three daughters, Jennifer (Christian) Gilworth of Estero, Florida, Kim (Ryan) Heavilin of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Michelle (Adam) Morrow of Trail Creek, Indiana; one sister, Julie (Eric) Dietz of West Lafayette, Indiana; one brother, James (Carla) Eikelberg of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; four grandchildren, Elena Gilworth and Isabel, Annabelle, and Nevaeh Heavilin; brother-in-law, Jim Woodruff; and several extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Christopher Lemons; and one sister, Linda Woodruff.
Karen was a very proud business owner of Candy Planet, which over time was at different locations in Michigan City, including the Marquette Mall. She was creative and artistic, and occupied her time after her husband's passing, building Lego sets. But, most importantly, she was a proud mother and grandmother and she cherished her beloved dogs, Easy, Johnny, and Buddy.
